Re: Most Times on Base in the Last Ten Years
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I expect Juan would have been on the list from 1991-2000. [/ QUOTE ] I strongly doubt it. He never walked. [/ QUOTE ] 1,519 hits and 368 walks. So, you're right. |

Re: Most Times on Base in the Last Ten Years
[ QUOTE ]
I don't understand why Delgado is surprising. The past 10 years cover his peak years. He's played 140 games each year besides one (128 games) and his lowest OBP year is .350 (most are between .370 and .420). Maybe I've just rated Delgado higher than others. [/ QUOTE ] Combination of playing in Canada + being healthy and consistant (meaning no huge seasons to put him on anyones radar but no really bad ones to take him off the list). |

[ QUOTE ] Gonzo: 2577 [/ QUOTE ] Where are you getting your #s from? According to Baseball Reference, Juan Gonzalez has 1,051 hits and 243 walks from 1997-2006. He's only played 1 game in the past two seasons, 34 games in the past three seasons, and 186 games in the past five seasons. [/ QUOTE ] cute |

Re: Most Times on Base in the Last Ten Years
[ QUOTE ]
I expected Biggio on there .... i see he is at 2426. Surprised no Leadoff hitters on the list (well Jeter led off a lot) [/ QUOTE ] I'm not surprised at all. The typical MLB leadoff hitter is a "fast" and "scrappy" type these days, not a big OBP guy. It seems like even batting 1st versus 3rd or 4th isn't going to overcome that. |

[/ QUOTE ] Sadly, it wasn't a joke. "Gonzo" has always been Juan Gonzalez for me. That's why I couldn't understand them. I expect Juan would have been on the list from 1991-2000. [/ QUOTE ] Same thing happened to me. I thought it was Juan and was like wtf that can't be right. But then it clicked. |

Re: Most Times on Base in the Last Ten Years
[ QUOTE ]
chipper really suprises me, i feel like he's always hurt [/ QUOTE ] In the last 3 years, he has PA totals of 477, 432, and 567. Besides that he's been above 650 and had a couple seasons of 700+ PA. He got on base nearly 200 times this season. |
