Why don't you think you'll narrow the competition with a PSB? What kind of PLO8 game gets, say, 6 limpers, then has the SB raise to 8 big blinds on top and has the whole field call, given that only 2 of them at most have an ace in their hand? If you're playing at this kind of table then maybe you SHOULD wait for a better spot. Hell, I'd play that table all day long. But from my experience even at the $25 level many limpers will fold their marginal holdings when faced with a PSB. These people usually aren't THAT bad. And even if they were, I wouldn't mind at all having invested 9BB in a 72BB pot with AAK4ds OOP.

[/ QUOTE ] Even if raising will get you nowhere near heads-up (according to the OP) and you'll be out of position in a multi-way pot having telegraphed at least half of your hand to observant opponents? |

sometimes i will raise with a hand like AQ34 ds because usually whenever someone raises they automatically assume that the raiser has either A2xx or AAxx. This way, when a flop comes down that looks like it has missed my "Aces" or if the flop comes with a two, I can take all their chips, assuming the flop is a good fit for me. It's kinda funny sometimes, because you'll see people in the chatbox saying something like "Gee, I wonder if he has rockets?" and I resist the urge to tell them what I have really have, even though they wouldn't beleive me anyway. I'm not sure that this is a winning strategy, but at least people can't put u on a hand when you raise.
I shouldn't ever post, I never get it right the first time. |
