another thing I hate is when I'm 8 tabling and some other regular I play everyday with comes and takes position on me on every table. Have a little class do 4 tables with position and 4 tables without or something.

If it's OK for someone to move seats because the seat is "unlucky", then it's OK for me to move to get position.

spot on

i move seats whenever

its perfectly fine in my book

Until this thread came up, I never even thought twice about it. I also don't have a problem when players move to be seated on MY left, as I understand where they're coming from, sitting on my right is a bitch. I try not to do it very often, but especially in live games as players come and go, changing seats can make a huge difference in your results for the session.

I think saying that changing seats is unethical is kinda in the same category as others getting butthurt over check-raising. Just part of the game, learn to use it either way.

I don't see a concensus here, but most people seem to be saying it's fine to change seats shorthanded / full games. I think it's alright as long as it's not overdone which is legal but kind of a dick thing to do. 100% of replies to my May thread linked on this thread (from poker theory), said changing seats online shorthanded was fine with a few saying overdoing it is not good. Unless they change the rule go for it if you are comfortable with it, although it could be bad for the game at times.
