Default $4/180 Challenge - Tues Oct 24th - 7:30 EST

Posting this really early 'cause I'll be in meetings all day...

When: Tuesday, October 24 @ 7:30pm EST
All members must register for the next FOUR 4/180s on PokerStars AFTER 7:30pmEST (19:30 Server time). If a tournament has less than 20 regged at 7:30 then that tournament will be the first one. I will post in this thread when we are starting.

Cost: Please send $10 to Ontario_Tory (that's toRy, not toNy... Be sure that I'm in Toronto before sending...) on Stars.

Scoring: Same as last week:

Missed tourney = 0 points
180-150th = 0 points
149-120th = 0.5 points
119-100th = 1 point
99-80th = 2 points
79-60th = 3 points
59-40th = 4 points
39-30th = 5 points
29-20th = 7 points
19th = 9 points
18-15th = 10 points
14-10th = 12 points
9th = 15 points
8th = 17 points
7th = 19 points
6th = 21 points
5th = 24 points
4th = 27 points
3rd = 30 points
2nd = 35 points
1st = 40 points

Wins and final 3's are HUGE in this stucture. Tie breakers go as follows.

1st tiebreak - Total Monies Won
2nd tiebreak - Highest Finish
3rd tiebreak - 2nd Highest Finish

If tied after that it is chopped

Payout structure is the same as last week - notice it's a bit different than the 20/180 challenge - a bit flatter.

Payouts: Less than 10 = 1st-100%, 10-19 = 1st-80%, 2nd 20%, 20-29 = 1st-60%, 2nd-30%, 3rd-10%, 30+ = 1st-50%, 2nd-25%, 3rd-15%, 4th-10%

So who's in?

If you move it to 8:30, like the monday challenge, you might get more runners, esp from us west coast guys since most of us are still at work.

Ya - we've had this discussion before (pretty much every week, actually). Can't do the later one, and consensus has been to stick with 7:30. We've had in the past two brackets - a 7:30 East Coast Bracket and then a 9:30 West Coast Bracket.

If somebody wants to step up and run a later one, you might get participants in both. But the East Coast one's gotta start 'early' so that us working stiffs can get to bed before 1:00...

Yo.

Not tonight, but later weeks. I wouldn't know a job if it smacked me in the face, and can transit the latter part of the challenges fairly simply.

Let me know, man.

I'm an East Coaster and I'm going to echo the sentiments of the West Coast players. I would likely play if this ran at 8:30 but severely doubt I'll make a 7:30 start time this week, or any one for that matter. It's just an awdward time to kick these things off, in my opinion, since it doesn't give me much time to eat dinner and get settled without feeling like I have to rush myself. I'm sure the West Coast players feel even more strongly about this.

OT, I'll play tonight, and I can play either 730 or 830, don't matter, but if we can get more players at 830 maybe we should reconsider the starting time?

I'll try to make it if only to practice 4-tabling these suckers for the next $11/180 and/or $22/180 challenges

All I know is that we had about 30 last night and as always, it was tons of fun. We used to have a West Coast bracket but the last time it got canceled due to lack of interest and hasnt been done since. So I will always vote for an 8:30 est start time. I think it allows for the most participation.
