I initially thought the hand was AKK4.
With AAK4, i'd raise if there was one limper, me and the BB only. And that's assuming the limper was bad, or he limped in LP. So, I might raise this hand, say, <10% of the time I have it in the SB. If it were DS, I'd raise here a lot. If there were nine people in the pot I'd raise it. But against the BB and two or three limpers, i wont raise it from the SB. |

If you don't raise QQ out of the SB in HE, you have no business playing HE. This hand is totally different.

Limp. Your out of position for the rest of the hand, and your not going to knock out any a-2 or a-3 with a raise, so chances are you're still playing for half the pot.

I'd raise this over 75% of the time, and I would consider this raising for value as well as raising to possibly shorten the field. Why let a limper with QQ75r (random example) try hit to hit his miracle flop so cheaply? Also, I like to piss people off by potting it out of the blinds (explains my popularity).
I don't imagine many mid/high stakes PLO8 players are not raising it up here. Of course, if you're talking micro-stakes... nobody is ever folding 4 cards pre-flop. |

Like I said, I consider this raising for value. If the hand wasn't doublesuited, it would instead play awfully multiway. Day-in and day-out I am actually potting this OOP at PLO8$200, $400, $600, $1K.
Although many know my contempt for bbphil, ironically it was he who made a post a long time ago saying that potting A3XXs from the BB was generating 1BB/100 when he was reviewing his play. |

Yes i do play micro stakes, nothing higher than a 50 dollar buy-in. The fact that it is double suited is the only reason why I wondered why it would ever be right to raise it up given the circumstances. I guess that also means when i raise it up pre-flop, and flop one of my draws, I have better odds to chase half the pot with my nut flush and hope to luck out and win low too, especially since I will probably have two other oponnets chasing with me with their two pair or whatever other garbage they have.

the more aggressive you play, the quicker you will be able to move up in limits. people who like to check-call as if it's their jobs and people who don't know how to build pots with good hands get stuck at the lower limits.
