\"Unable to connect\" to Pacific Poker
I haven't tried to use the Pacific client since last April. I re-downloaded the software and installed it and it gives me this error message every time. My internet connection works fine otherwise. I've re-installed the program several times in the last few days with no success.
My antivirus/firewall program allows the client to contact the server so that shouldn't be a problem. I contacted Pacific's support and they said this: "1. In some cases, you are not be able to connect to Pacific Poker if your computer is using a Firewall or an Antivirus. In order to connect to our servers you will have to open ports 701, 4095, 4096, 7100, 7200, 7500, 8500 and 8520 in the Firewall and temporarily disable your Antivirus. Please be aware that Windows XP has its own in-built Firewall. " Do they really advice me to shut down my antivirus program? That'd be absurd. Every other program and every other poker client works fine except Pafific. Has anybody else faced this problem and if so how did you fix this? |

Re: \"Unable to connect\" to Pacific Poker
Be really happy and uninstall their client immediately. Why would you ever want to play on Pacific Poker?

I know their software sucks and I don't get any "unmentionable" there but I would at least like to get to see the god damn lobby! Nobody has any idea what the hell is blocking the client? (Once again, the client is on list of approved programs in my firewall software) |

Re: \"Unable to connect\" to Pacific Poker
I'm not from the U.S and I don't even get a chance to log-in. When I try to open the login page (clicking the icon "real money" or whatever) it gives me the error. Well, I guess it must have something to do with my firewall even though everything should be absolutely in order.
I was just curious to ask because the support e-mail told me to shut down my antivirus program. That's kind of silly, just wondering if any of you had to do that when you played there. |
