MGM - Las Vegas - 1-2 NL
Last month I was at the MGM in LV playing low limit 3-6 or 4-8 and decided to check out the baby 1-2 NL game (max buy in $200). I mostly play limit and have rarely played other 1-2 games with max buy-ins of only $100 because I thought there just wasn't enough betting room without putting someone all-in.
In this game the stacks ranged from $60 to $300 but the entire table played with the skill and bankroll of an average 2-4 limit player - it was very easy to manipulate player behavior with even a $20 opening bet and I never saw long-shot suck outs that are typical in low limit holdem. This is definitely my new game of choice - does Foxwoods or AC spread this type of game? |

Re: MGM - Las Vegas - 1-2 NL
Obviously every table is different, but the 1/2 NL at the MGM is one of the easiest games in town at times. Every once in a while you'll get at a tough table because locals are learning, but locals mostly avoid this room because of the parking/noise issues.

Re: MGM - Las Vegas - 1-2 NL
Foxwoods just changed their buy-in structure this weekend. 1/2 NL is now $60-300 and 2/5 NL is $200-500. My fear is that some of the good 2/5 players will come down to 1/2 now that it plays bigger.

I can't imagine that the 2/5 has a much higher earn than the 1/2 now. and you save $2/hr on rake! |

Sad to see the poor souls grinding a half blinded stack of $120 dollars on the 2/5 NL table now.....

The Orleans has a max buy-in of $300 and the players are just as bad.

The MGM is soft but if you want the easiest, head across the escalator to the Tropicana. I was drunk my first night in vegas and stayed at the Trop. At one point I saw a guy bluff with Q high and get called and Q high was good, as the dealer shipped the pot to Q high he made a comment under his breath
''Worst players in Vegas'' I played that game drunk all week and never lost money. Players were awful |
