Default B&M hand for review

Game is 1/2 blind NL at the peppermill in Reno.
Effective stacks are:

Hero - $500
villan-$700

Hero is in MP with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

UTG limps, 3 folds, villan limps, Hero raises to $17 (standard raise in this game), Button calls, folds to villan who calls.

*I've been playing with villan for about 2 hours. He is a tight thinking player. He raises with his good hands and pretty much plays ABC tight poker.

3 to flop ($54 in pot)

Flop - K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

villan checks, Hero bets $45, button folds, villan calls.

Turn ($144 in pot) - 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

villan checks, Hero bets $110, villan calls.

River ($364 in pot) - 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Villan pushes, hero goes into the tank...

I only put him on a few hand ranges here. I didn't put him on QQ or KK as he would have raises those pf. It was hard to put him on diamonds as he seeemed like a tight player who wouldn't call that much on the turn chasing diamonds. The other hand I put him on was possibly KQ or possibly 10Jdiamonds. And the only other logical hand would be 88, but he seems like the player who would have raised his set on the flop or turn.

Now I didn't put him on diamonds unless he had 10J diamonds. But on the river, the open push seems risky for him with diamonds since the board paired and I could easily have QQ or KK. For some reason it smelled like a bluff to me. Any opinions on this hand? Oh, and river was about $300 for me to call.

You say that he pretty much plays ABC poker, but that push is weird. I can't put him on a hand given the way he played it that beats yours. I think i make a crying call here hoping to see a missed draw or an overplayed KQ.

if you don't put him on diamonds i think this is a fairly easy call because the board paired.

Call floorman, 2 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in deck.

Did the flush get there, or did the board pair? I'm confused.

and river was 8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

yes, the board paired and the flush draw hit.

I'm having trouble putting him on a hand too but I still think you should fold the river getting 2:1. Would a tight ABC player make a huge all in bluff on the river considering how much strength you've shown in the hand? I don't think he would.

I like the way you played the hand up to the river.
