Offical Smash Bros Discussion
This is for the 64 version... too bad at poker to get a gamecube.
There's been a lot of talking on the forum about SSB and I just want to clear things up. The best characters are as follows. 1. Kirby - This is a given. Too many good moves. the left and right smash kick is unstoppable. Also, the blue beam sword thing is extremely useful, and if you can 'downkick' people off the edge, you can kill them with virtually 0% dmg. Full game - ***** 1v1 - **** 2. Ness - Takes a skilled player to use him right. Pk fire thing + any smash is near unstoppable. His throw is also sick. Full game - **** 1v1 - ***** 3. Pikachu - Throw is his best, and it always sends you packin'. Also, the big lightning bolt can be extremely cheaply used to keep people from getting back onto the edge. Full game - *** 1v1 - ***** 4. Captain Falcon - Fast runner, and it is not rare that the falcon punch can kill all three other players in one hit. He's also mad fun to play as. Full game - **** 1v1 - ** 5. Mario/Luigi - Under rated. He has a good throw, and his 'split' kick is also very effective. The most effective, however, is the headbutt, which can send people to their death at about 100% or sometimes even less. Full game - *** 1v1 - **** 6. DK - Worthy of note, he's hard to kill, and also the charge up punch can kill people at 75% if placed right. Also has a good throw. Full game - *** 1v1 - *** 7. Fox - Very fast, good smash, and his reflect shield is useful in many games. Also has a decent throw, but has no one move that can kill on a regualr basis. Full game - ** 1v1 - *** 8. Samus - Very overrated. If you're playing stock, he is decent at staying alive, but really cant get kills. Pretty much garbage. Full game - ** 1v1 - * Everyone else shouldn't be used. Link is horrible, as is Yoshi.

I'm done talking about this, but as i said in the other thread, i would be happy to put my samus up against anyone 1v1, for ANY amount of money.

puke.
Pikachu #1. Ness #2. Kirby #3. Luigi and Link somewhere near the bottom. Jigglypuff somewhere near the middle. Fox and Falcon near the top. DK sucks.

I pretty much agree with your list, but I think ness should be #3 and pikachu at #2.
Also, I don't think fox is > samo. Other than that close to my rankings.

Kirby and Ness are by FAR the best characters, Ness slightly more than Kirby IMHO.
I agree that Pikachu should take third place, but he isn't close to Ness and Kirby. Captain Falcon is fun, but he isn't that great. Fox is on the weak side, but his throw combined with his speed makes him a great player (i.e. it's VERY easy to grab opponents), and in a full game the reflector does wonders. I don't see why you put DK up that high, he's just too slow against a real opponent, even though his attacks are very powerful and have good range. Samus is a she, and is pretty good in a full game. Mario/Luigi are very very average. backdoorbet, any time you're in the D.C. area, I live in Northern Virginia, so I'll take your challenge ANYDAY, and I'll give you 2:1 odds on every game.
