Into Thin Air: A Personal Account of the Mt. Everest Disaster, by Jon Krakauer

Incredible book

[/ QUOTE ]

Completely agree. Anything by Krakauer is amazing and will keep you enthralled from start to finish.

Also, Devil in the White City is the best book I read in 2005 (and I read a lot). Seriously, read it. I can't even describe how great it is.

Sports:
Ball Four
Baseball Between the Numbers
Anything by Bill James

Here are two reasonably fun reads in economics:
"Happiness: Lessons From A New Science" by Layard
"The Market System: What it is, How it Works, and What to Make of it" by Lindblom

Finally, near the top of my "to read list" is "The Orgin of Wealth" by Beinhocker.

The book is published by Harvard Business School Press and is written for the educated layman.
