Default Week 8 CFB

YTD 1-1 (+1.7 units)

I don't post much, but figured I needed to try and pick up slack for those trying to watch their teams get to World Series or something (MT2R).

Wisconsin -6.5 over Purdue (-104 Pinny)
The Badgers have been pretty solid and have done what teams have done in past under Alvarez--pound the ball and dominate line of scrimmage. They also have a passing game with Stocco as QB that is viable threat. Purdue on defense has stopped....let me think...ummm...NOBODY!!!! They even gave up 31 points to this Miami (OH) team:

10/15/06 @ BUFF W 38-31 L -7.5
10/8/06 NOILL L 25-28 W 13
9/30/06 @ CIN L 10-24 L 11
9/23/06 @ SYR L 14-34 L 7
9/16/06 KENST L 14-16 L -14
9/9/06 @ PURD L 31-38 W 19
8/31/06 NWEST L 3-21 L 5.5

Purdue will get their yardage and presumably points, but I like laying 6.5 points with a team that will run and has a defense that is pretty good (stats are great, but their competition hasn't been great other than loss to Michigan). And Purdue is certainly no where near Michigan or Ohio State class.

I live in Wisconsin but am not a Badger fan. I can tell you the buzz hasn't been that great this year (Barry Alvarez retired from coaching) and I think expectations just aren't that high, especially with loss to Michigan. This team is truly flying under radar, even locally (which is VERY hard to do).

Texas A&M (ML +131) over Oklahoma St (Pinny)
Similar philosophy to Wisconsin game, like to bet on a team that should be able to pound the ball on the ground against a team that hasn't shown a great deal of defense over the last 3 opponents (who have a pulse, previous 3 were all dog games vs. Fla Intl, Ark St, SW Mo St)
10/14/06 @ KANS W 42-32 W 2.5
10/7/06 @ KANST L 27-31 L -3
9/23/06 @ HOU L 25-34 L 2.5

Hoping Tex A&M riding high over big win over Missouri and will overcome very good QB in Bobby Reid and his passing attack. They were down 17-0 vs. Kansas before exploding in 2nd half. Missouri game & QB Daniels should've prepped Aggie defense.

...not to dance too much...but....

ship it!!!

Purdue was very off in the 1st half on offense. As expected, Badger run game was going to pound. I missed 2nd half w/ errands, but was pretty happy to flip on TV and see 24-3.
