Default Button and BB get HU: What\'s your read???

In FR it's folded to you on the button. You raise, SB folds and BB calls.

Flop: J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4.5 SB)

BB checks, you bet, BB calls.

Turn: K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Now BB bets out. Why?
Info: BB is a LAG/TAG thinking player!

You don't need hole cards to answer question #1. It's about what you think BB might be holding.

For question #2 your hole cards are Jx (no draws).

I am a very aggressive stealer, but I don't try it with Jx, unless I have stats on both blinds that they fold 60+% to steals in both blinds.

ObSuperstition: I have a thing with J4o. Or rather, J4o has a thing with me. After I read a few posts here where J4o was used as an example of a garbage hand, I kept getting J4o all the time. Or so I thought. So I questioned my trusty PT database. Sure enough, J4o is my 2nd most frequent hand. I'm still folding it though.

BB is likely trying to protect something, while also possibly finding out if you are still interested in the pot. This is not a big hand most of the time, unless it is a random two pair looking to 3 bet. If I were in this spot I would call down since we are beating most of villans range here.

Hmmm, I just looked at the current results: even though 41% think they are up against a pair of kings, only 12% want to fold their paired Jx

Guys, you are getting 3.25-to-1 immediate odds (maybe 5.25 implied odds) on a 5-outer (at most)! That translates into at least 8.2-to-1 odds that you need to get here!

Is this result strange or have I misunderstood the whole concept of outs & odds?

Can anybody explain that, please?

Thanks!

You asked what we think the "MOST LIKELY" hand is. Not one of us is 100% sure. There is enough doubt to continue.

The only way this is a K (or K's up) is if he's looking to bet/3-bet, and he's going to go for a c/r instead a goodly % of the time. It's is a semibluff or a sketchy pair way more often.

Easy call.
