Should have raised the flop to find outwhere I stand in the hand.

why? it would have cost the same as our river call will and we actually WILL get to see where we stand.

raising the flop will (probably) fold out an AK/AQ, and might fold out a lower PP that will make another bet later, but not call a bet.

I sometimes re-raise this pre-flop, but the field was already short. I prefer to just call here.

Its probable that the raiser was bad enough to call a re-raise with AK/AQ on the flop, but I would be in a quandary if a paint turned.

When the turn was checked around, its a good sign that raiser does not have a king - he would certainly bet.

I was going to bet/raise any non A/K/Q turn.

On the river his most likely hands are AQ/AJ, QQ, TT, 99, 88, in my opinion.

I called and was good against AQ.

I thought it was an easy call on the river.

If you raise the flop you're going to run into a major problem if someone pushes because you're not going to know what that is (smaller pair who thinks you don't have him beat, higher pocket pair etc) Or you just take that pot down.

If he's got overcards and one hits--sure you may have to fold but he may bluff a river--which he did in this case.

(although if you did reraise preflop that would erase some of the doubt in this hand here)
