OP, yeah it happens to me, like another poster said it's like an almost painful tingling in the cheek mostly. for some reason i always assumed that it was just a surface reaction between like, sugar in the food and my cheek.

It happens to me, likewise only if I havent eaten/drank anything in a while. I have always assumed it was salivary glands trying to catch up.

Yeah, it happens to me too after not eating for a while. I've always thought of it as a salivary surge.

Happens to me - usually first bite in the morning, coffee or banana, doesn't matter.

ive had this happen to me before i take the bite as well... im pretty sure it has something to do with anticipation and salivation... by pretty sure i mean im totally guessing.

i also like when you have a drink for the first time in a day and you can feel it moving down your esophogas (thats gotta be spelt wrong)... works best with cold drinks.
