borgata 20/40
it's early in the afternoon and I'm new to the table so don't have many reads except for some of the regs and people I'd played with the night before. weak passive old guy limps utg, I raise after 2 folds with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], loose/bad sb calls and unknown bb calls. 4 to the flop. flop is A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] checked to me, I bet, sb calls, bb calls, utg calls. hrmmm... turn is 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] checked to me again, I bet, sb folds, bb now check/raises, utg folds, I think about it for a couple seconds, briefly consider folding and ultimately decide I'm calling and folding the river UI, calling if I hit a 7 or a King and raising if I hit a 9. river is the 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] villain leads, I raise. all thoughts appreciated... especially the turn/river plan. |

I'm calling cause it's really thin and I want him to open his hand first.

I see no real benefit in check raising this river with that flush out there for all the world to see. Will you call a river three bet here?
An unkown has to respect the flush (though not neccessarily in your hand) and a possible top two holding. Despite that he's lurked for a turn raise. There's not enough value in your two pair to make this river raise justified. For all of the above, I'm mucking after the turn C/R more times than not. |

I'd definitely fold the turn and expect that you are drawing dead most of the time--people just don't c/r bluff a pfr's 2nd cont. bet on AKxx boards. So you are praying he has 2pair or AQd or whatever and that you spike a lucky river card. Too big of a parlay for me.
Given the turn call, I think the river is close, but I'd probably just call. |

He could be on a semi-bluff, or top two, or a set. last two, your in trouble. the former, you'll be in trouble if another [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] falls. Personally, I can't see calling the turn.

I would probably call the c/r on the turn because I'm a goon. But I certainly wouldn't raise the river after villain bets. It's live. You're good here about 15% of the time, right?

combined possibility that u r already behind to 2 pairs and set and that u r likely being drawn out, make it fold to turn c/r

Yeah, easy fold on the turn against an unknown. His line strongly looks like a flopped flush, and even if he doesn't have one, you're essentially drawing dead against the rest of his range.
On the river (assuming I got there), I'd be making a crying call, not raising. |

i will fold to turn c/r. but if i go to river, i will raise instead of calling. why? what does bb have? flop 2 pairs/set/baby flush will put more actions in on flop. nut flush most likely will also put more actions in on flop because of bb's position. if 4th flush card falls in turn, action will dry out. so most likely turn 5 helps him. I do not think he has 5c5x pp, with which he can not call flop. so most likely he has a5, which makes sense according to his pf and flop/turn play.
