This is never a smooth-call preflop. AAxx is always a favorite over any holdings besides AA2x. Only possible time to slow down with AAxx preflop is when your sidecards are garbage and facing resistance from a rock. AA3s is especially a premium hand, and should never be played this passively. If you do indeed run into AA2 sometimes, chalk it up as cooler, rinse, repeat.

Explanation for not getting all-in preflop??? Fear of AA2(I hope not)? Bankroll limitations?

Unfortunately this flop puts most A2/A4 as favorites over you. It's a fold as played.

Get it all in before the flop...WHAT ARE THE CHANCES HE HAS A BETTER HAND? Quite quite slim. The only hands you are really worried about are AA2x, and given he would need the two case aces AND a deuce. There is one way two aces can be together, 4 ways they can come with a deuce, and 45 other cards, so the number of possible hands that beat you is 1*4*45=180, out of 48C4 = 194,580 possible hands, so the chances a random hands beats you are about .000925. Even if you KNEW that no other player had an ace or deuce in their hand, the chance UTG would have this set of cards is 1*4*17/(20C4)= about 1.5%, and that's making the absolutely wild assumption that NOBODY ELSE HAD ANY ACE OR DEUCE! Even if you are behind you aren't WAY behind. ALWAYS get it all in preflop with this hand if you can. Flop play is irrelevant.

flop fold = good. PF = all in, like the others said.

I absolutely hate it when I agree with everyone else...but they are right. You should have repotted once the raise came your way. In this situation, when you know it will be heads up with the UTG why get cute with this hand? Punish this sucka preflop. Get it all in there. Make him pay the price to play. Calling with a hand like that is a serious leak.

THE HUN.
