50nl ok to chase here?
Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.25/$0.50 6 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $34.70 UTG+1: $96.90 Hero: $84.80 Button: $51.70 SB: $70.95 BB: $61.25 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is CO with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, Hero raises to $2.5, Button folds, SB calls, BB calls, UTG calls. Flop: 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($10, 4 players) SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, Hero checks. Turn: 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($10, 4 players) SB checks, BB checks, UTG bets $5, Hero calls i wasn't really worried about the sb and bb raising. if all my straight and flush outs are good i only need 2:1 immediate and i'm getting 3:1. plus i might have some overcard outs. River: 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($20, 2 players) UTG checks, hero checks. no point in trying to bluff here i don't think. |

Re: 50nl ok to chase here?
Why didnīt you bet the flop? Then you can check behind on the turn instead.

[/ QUOTE ] He had position on a passive field, I don't see a need to open the betting on the flop as a 7 or straight draw is not folding. I think betting out will just bloat the pot here where the board is so dangerous. You don't want to be in the situation on the turn where you find yourself having to call allin for pot odds because you made the pot unnecessarily big on the flop. |

Re: 50nl ok to chase here?
I would lead at the flop for $8-$9. If anyone calls i see the turn and take a free card if i miss.
As played i would typically fold the turn. Catching a straight or flush might still be behind. |

I can't see a good reason to put money the pot there, seeing the turn card for free with a draw is good. Opening up the betting could lead to all sorts of nasty situations you'd like to avoid. Also betting the flop in no way allows you see the river for free, your logic is flawed. |

Re: 50nl ok to chase here?
I would bet the flop here and hope to get heads up where my Q and T outs are more likely to be good. You raised preflop, and everyone checked to you on a flop that is very favorable. This is not the spot to give up the initiative or give 3 players a freecard IMO.

Re: 50nl ok to chase here?
You bet the flop so you can see the turn and river card free if you need to. You also don't give anyone a free card to catch a set like 44 55 66 etc..
