I went to Borgata two weekends ago and I noticed it was slow there too. Would the Mets being in the playoffs keep many people away?

Maybe. A guy at my table mentioned there was a fight that night, so maybe that was where people were.

I played at Eldorado in Shreveport, La on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night and the crowd seemed about the same as a usual weekend. However, I did sit at the table on Saturday night with 4 really nice college guys who played very solid poker and after talking a few hours, discovered we all played online. They live a little over hour from the casino and so do I and everyone admitted we would definatly be trying to make a few more poker runs now.
I think we will definatly see an increase in attendance by the 21-35 age crowd. They might not be new B&M players but they might just start playing more regularly. Just my guess since I fall in the middle of that crowd. |

Played @ the MGM last night, got there about 1:30am and thought it to be slower than I expected. I haven't played in a month or so so I can't compare to recent trend.

I dealt with a lot of "internet pros" this weekend and not one of them has a grasp of live poker that I saw....yet. That is not to say they can't adapt. Mostly 1/2 NL players with their $6 average raises against a table full of 10-20 raises. They would whine constantly that the bets are too big and that players dont know wtf they are doing, and yada yada...you tune them out after awhile. Everyone of them sitting with the Ipod and sunglasses shaking like a leaf every time they put even a call into a pot, sometimes blatently overdoing it, lol. It was comical to see the "ohh gee omfg how did you bet so much, oh woa is me, what should I do" act then bang...push all in.
I didn't see too many live "tourists" falling for this bad hollywood acting bs. It was just so funny this weekend to see this stuff, it's great! But the "pros" are zero action unless they have the nuts or they are set mining. Yet they were always the first ones to comment on how bad the action is live vs online. Then they make it 10 to go and fold to a reraise of 10 after a long staredown. When I was playing, I'd just want to reach accross the table and smack them side the head...after I take their cihps of course |
