Re: What Cell Phone Carrier Do You Use?
[ QUOTE ]
Sprint here, been pretty happy with the customer service. 2 year contract is almost up, thinking about switching because there are a lot of random dead spots around the twin cities that piss me the [censored] off. May just stick with the plan though, cause change is a pain in the ass. [/ QUOTE ] When I'm in the Twin Cities I switch my Sprint phone to roam only. Obviously make sure this is covered for free in your plan. |

I also was a verizon customer for 7 years prior to Sprint, one thing to remember is that for $5 a month you get unlimited roaming on Sprint which includes all of the Verizon towers everyone loves to talk about [/ QUOTE ] I complained about coverage and they offered this to me for free. One thing to take note of is that your phone may struggle with the Sprint signal before switching to roam. That's why, as I just mentioned, I often set the phone to "Roaming Only" when I'm in a difficult area- I always need to do this in the Twin Cities and the Austin airport. |

Re: What Cell Phone Carrier Do You Use?
Sprint users, I'm told we can get out of our plans for a short time now since they hiked our SMS rates:

Re: What Cell Phone Carrier Do You Use?
Verizon customer service is trained to f--k over the customers. Cingular is way better. Better phones too.

Re: What Cell Phone Carrier Do You Use?
Verizon gets a signal on the Metro (subway) in Washington DC. Thats a big selling factor around here.
The might have the same capability in other cities. |

Re: What Cell Phone Carrier Do You Use?
Verizon is by far the best national carrier, but the determining factor should be who you talk to. Make sure that the people you talk to most frequently i.e. GF/ Wife have the same carrier as you.

Re: What Cell Phone Carrier Do You Use?
AZK,
I had Sprint for a long time travelling primarily between SF and NYC and hated it, coverage often sucked. I've been told that was partially due to my shtty phone, though. I've had Cingular for the last year or so with a lot of travel to NYC plus some other trips (Houston, Vegas, LA) and I've been pretty happy w/ Cingular signal strength and coverage. |

Re: What Cell Phone Carrier Do You Use?
I do customer service for Cingular. If you live and/or work around Florida or Georgia I wouldn't go with us. We have a lot of bugs and network problems those states.
Our phones are decent but generally expensive, I would not recommend getting any of our free phones or the razr, most of the device issues that I hear about are from those phones. If you do get a phone please get insurance, even though our insurance is going up to 4.99/month I would still get it. If you're phone ever gets lost, stolen, water damaged, or just wrecked in the first year of service you could get stuck purchasing a new phone or paying the termination fee($175 for new contract) to get out of your contract and move to another carrier. It's much more of a hassle than paying the $50 deductable and getting a new phone in 3-5days. Our rate plans are decent, nation wide coverage(no domestic long distance) , unlimited mobile to mobile, and unlimited nights and weekends(9pm-6am), and your unused minutes rollover (they last for a year). |

I talked to 5 different Cingular reps today while moving family plans. This made a total of 14 interractions with Cingular to get my plan moved. It was absolutely unreal. Anyway, if you see Sarah or David or those other three [censored] I talked to today, tell them I said 'hi'. -Sam |
