Default SBR: Mansion\'s sportsbook closes to US, exchange stays open.

fwiw... guess you'll have to find another teaser friendly place. any idea how much mansion not putting up their own money on the exchange will matter?

10.16.2006 (09:59 AM CST)

Mansion (SBR rating B-) closes its sportsbook and casino to players residing in the US. Mansion’s most popular offering is its low-margin sports exchange betting platform, which will remain open for all clients. However, management tells SBR that they will no longer employ market makers to seed the exchange and there may be a substantial decline in wagering activity. The company aims to offer true peer-to-peer trading. SBR has downgraded Mansion to B- due to customer service issues, reduced offerings and complaints of canceled wagers without alerting players through email.

From my experience, it will matter quite a bit when it comes to college football. It seems like there are a lot more unique offers out there on the NFL and MLB.

This is really a shame. They were great on teasers, and they offered some decent line variety from Pinnacle. One of my favorite outs is essentially gone.

I am a little confused though. They seem to still be offering their own money up on college football for this coming week, and on tonight's monday night game.

Damnit, at least I still have the exchange, but without the market seeders it will probably be a lot more mediocre (at least for NCAA football, which has been my cash cow so far). Time for me to get off my lazy ass, find a scanner, cash out most of my Mansion roll, and sign up for Pinny like I've been meaning to for the past month.

EDIT: Looking at the exchange, though, it looks like the market seeders are still there, just smaller. Instead of every game having -107 sides available for up to $10,000 something, they only have -107 sides available for up to $1,988 (and on a few games $994).

Does anyone know what happens to our unsettled bets for tonight's MNF game?

Well, at least I made a tiny profit on teasers in my short time there. Has anyone tried to withdraw funds from their account yet since the announcement?

Welcome to Chat.Mansion.Com, MANSION Julie will be right with you.

MANSION Julie
RE: Hello, I've heard that you are cutting off access to the casino and sportsbook for U.S. customers. I was not able to find any official statement on your website, though.

Currently the sportsbook is not populated with any events for me, so I assume I'm not allowed to wager there, but the sports exchange still appears available to me, does this mean you intend to keep the exchange available?

If you have a comprehensive statement prepared, I would love to see it. I want to know exactly what services you will and won't be providing to your U.S. customers, so that I can make an informed decision about whether to continue using your site, rather than just fleeing in panic. I intend to share your response on the gambling forum I frequent, so the more comprehensive your information, the better. Thank you very much for your time.

Thank you. What is your policy on outstanding wagers? Clearly, U.S. customers are not allowed to place new wagers in the sportsbook, but will outstanding bets, such as those on tonight's Monday Night Football game, or World Series futures bets, be honored? Or will they be cancelled and the money returned to our accounts?

MANSION Julie
All bets placed before the suspension will be honored

BobJoeJim
Okay, thank you very much.

MANSION Julie
Any time

MANSION Julie
Is there anything else I can help you with?

BobJoeJim
Not for now, I'll share your response with other interested parties, and if they have any other questions I may be back later. Thanks again.
