Re: But why, Party Poker?
Just a guess but...
Party makes alot of money off their non poker ghames, aka roullete, blackjack, slots and so on. PP came to undrstand that a poker only site may not fall under the new law for US players ( stars and other poker only sites staying open for US players) So party had a descision, either cut out US players, or close down their non poker games. They firgue they make more money off their non poker games then they do in poker collecting rakes. |

[ QUOTE ] Would you risk jail for $500,000 per day? [/ QUOTE ] ahhhhhhh.....hell yeah i would. [/ QUOTE ] So would I and that is what the private companies are doing. The thing is that there was not that kind of upside to the publicly traded companies. The upside is in finding a way around the law. You can word-parse the legislation to the point where you can decide that poker really is legal in the USA. The companies staying in the US market have recieved that type of legal advice. The ones leaving the US market also had excellent legal advice--the best money can buy. |

[ QUOTE ] Would you risk jail for $500,000 per day? [/ QUOTE ] ahhhhhhh.....hell yeah i would. [/ QUOTE ] Wrong question. It should be " Would you risk jail for $500,000 a day when you already have $1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, in your bank account and can legaly continue making $70,000 a day?" Totally different situation... |
