Default ReIntroduction to 2+2

I wanted to take the moment to re-introduce myself to this forum. I have been a member for a while here but have rarely posted. Frankly, I never felt comfortable here due to the elitist mentally I thought I incountered. However, I was checking on the latest Anthology articles and happened across MLG's "Evolution of a Player" post.

I must say that not only did it open my eyes to my current level of play or progress but it also showed me that 2+2 isn't necessarily elitist. It is a group of players who not only desire to reach new levels of success but also new levels of thought. I'm going to make a concerted effort to post more on this site to not only learn but to interact and assist others.

I have had some success in my MTT play. My game lacks consistency, focus and admitedly a mastering of the basic fundamentals. I guess I would describe my play as kind of raw ability that hasn't been properly schooled. I love to play, so much so that my studies suffer. I hope to change all that starting now.

I look forward to becoming a more active member of this forum.

good luck! as you've probably heard a million times, the best way to learn is through experience, and the best way to use this forum is to post trouble hands you have throughout your tournament, and to respond to others hands and read others responses and try to understand the thought processes behind those responses.

not everyone on here is as polite as they might be in person. so you may post something that receives a less than warm reception. just remember what you're here for -- to learn poker, to make money. if you make some friends along the way, that's a bonus. so try not to take it to heart.

good luck at the tables!

Yes, you have to understand that even the exceptionally good players on here are constantly encountering bad luck, bad beats, and big losses. People's egos get battered around on the table, and so they batter newbies around on here. I've been on both ends of the battering myself. But it is a price well worth paying to get access to the insight and experience of these players. I've learned to think of it as a quid pro quo.
