I don't think you understand the demographics of poker if the non-poker jobs pay more than the poker playing.

[/ QUOTE ] Stability, tax purposes, health insurance, job security to placate a wife, relieve stress of needing to always win. Some of those reasons (like health insurance) are trivial to pay for, but the mental effect of not needing to book wins can actually make you a better player. |

I have kept my job and I don't intend on that changing anytime soon. Basically, I really enjoy my job and I never have to do the same thing twice. Even though it's a huge paycut for me, the quality of life issues are most important. Plus, I'm not sure how much more poker I'd want to play than I already do, so I don't even know how much money I lose per year by actually working, (though it is significant).
