Wings are a frickin' machine (as usual) but the Sabres are among the best in the East. I think the line is good enough to take the Wings; it'll be close, but I think the fact it'll be at the Joe will give them the edge. Wings.

Lightning haven't gotten it together yet, but will soon. I'm just not sure it'll be against their rival Panthers on the road. Panthers looked REAL good the other night against the 'Canes. Panthers.

Cup Champs haven't looked that good yet, but the Thrashers keep pullin' 'em out. This one is in Atlanta, so slight edge to them. This is two mediocre teams with lopsided records that cancel each other out. I'm skipping this one.

This one is too close to pick too. Sharks have been hot,I'd be leaning that way. If I knew enough about this (capping) to use the moneyline to my advantage there might be some value there, but my ignorance makes me lay off. Maybe someone can explain it to me and I'll get in on it later, unless the lines change.

SJ/Van, want to see how SJ reacts to adversity. Van home opener -106 looks promising. against a team that played last night. hmmmm. . .

Note for saturday: Already took dallas -113 at LA. Might throw some on -1.5 +230 if I know Turco is playing. (Dal plays ANA on sunday)

last night was brutal. Sens game did indeed go under, as did Nashville (although that was at least a little closer). Toronto up 6-3 in the 3rd, lose a shootout. Edmonton shows up in the 3rd for 4 goals costing me SJ. Good times. I'm glad I'm doing this only for fun and not to actually make money, although it would be nice to get better at this.

Tonight's picks (all ML, all OT inc.):

Hurricanes have got to get their act together. Tonight is a huge game for them, since the Thrashers have been white hot. I don't think home ice matters much here because Atlanta's not really a hockey town, far as I know. Canes have no pressure on the road, and they gotta win one eventually. Before the lines opened I estimated -105/-105, so I see a lot of value here.

BUF +138
I should have jumped on this one at +153 last night, since I knew then that this was way out of whack. Buffalo is sensational this year, and Briere/Afinogenov/Pominville are gonna win for my fantasy team 2nd week in a row. Detroit is good, but even in hockeytown usa I can't see home ice being worth this much. Buffalo should take this about 40% of the time.

SJ -101
Sharks coming off a humiliating loss against Edmonton last night, they'll be out looking for revenge. Other than Luongo, I haven't really been impressed with the Canucks this year and Sharks are seriously underrated.

Any thoughts?
