Weird WPEX deposit situation
The person on the phone couldn't really explain this to me clearly, so maybe someone here can.
I played a bit on WPEX about a month ago... probably started with around $100 and cashed out with $450 a few weeks later when I decided that the software in poor compatibility with PT made it not worth my time. Didn't have any problems with any of this. Today, I decided to put some money back into it since there seem to be more players and more games in the past few days. So I sent over $300 from Neteller, but only $240 showed up in my account. Checked my Neteller account, and sure enough, $300 had been sent. So where's my $60? First, I tried the online Tech Support. The person I was chatting with disappeared for over 20 minutes and never came back. So I just called the 800 number and talked with someone immediately who then transferred me to someone else. This second person looked into it, and came back after a few minutes, telling me that that the $60 was tied up in a bonus of some sort, left over from a previous deposit. She said she had unlocked the funds and they were now in my account. I told her that I was happy to have my money back, but I didn't understand what happened in the first place. She said something about how I had needed to wager 5x my deposit in the sports book in order to receive my bonus. I told her that, to the best of my knowledge, I've never signed up for or received any sort of bonus from WPEX. She was obviously useless to explain this to me in any more detail, so I thanked her and let it go. Anyone else experience a similar problem, and can explain why exactly they put 20% of my deposit on hold? |

Re: Weird WPEX deposit situation
If you sent money towards the end of August and beginning of September, you were given a 20% bonus. It was only supposed to be used in the sportsbook or casino.

Re: Weird WPEX deposit situation
My initial deposit was made 9/15 ... and I am pretty sure I never received a bonus. (And if I did, it's weird that it wasn't locked up THEN, instead of letting me cash it out, and then locking it up on my NEXT deposit.) In any case, your phone support staff handled the situation well. (Although your online support did not.)
Thanks. |

Re: Weird WPEX deposit situation
Fred,
Where do you guys stand on barring people from selected states. I wasn't concerned until the CEO of True Poker caved in like 12 seconds. I remember in the late 90's Intertops closed accounts of sports bettors from New Jersey so this would be deja' vu all over again times infinity. Nervous by the shore. |

Re: Weird WPEX deposit situation
They probably removed the bonus when you cashed out, however there is something called a poker transfer holdback they forgot to remove.

Re: Weird WPEX deposit situation
We stand wherre we have always stood, for the industry and for the players.
The Congress of the United States passed a bill outlawing the ACCEPTANCE of financial transactions for ILLEGAL Internet gambling. World Sports Exchange, WSEX.com, and all of its sister companies are LEGAL and licensed businesses regulated by the Gaming Commission of Antigua and Barbuda. We are wholly located in Antigua and do no business or run any part of our operation on US soil. We do not assert any legal opinion of gaming in your jurisdiction, only Antigua and Barbuda. The World Trade Organization, the WTO, has recognized the right of Antiguan companies to be in this business and has instructed the United States to stop trying to block US residents from playing at Antiguan operations. Nothing in the bill criminalizes placing a bet or sending money to or receiving money from an offshore gambling business. The law gives the banking regulators 270 days, 9 months, to figure out how to enforce it. It puts the burden of enforcing the law on the US banking system. Most experts believe they will not be able to get in done in that time, and many believe whatever system they come up with will not work. We strongly suggest that our players get set up with alternative payment systems. WSEX has always and will continue to fight for the players’ rights to spend their gambling dollars as they see fit, not just on US state sanctioned state lotteries or other outlets where the US government gets a piece of the action. |

Re: Weird WPEX deposit situation
What alternative options do you use? I live in Maryland and cannot use Neteller. Firepay is gone. I have epassporte and Click2Pay but at Absolute poker I cannot cashout via these methods. They are making me wait for a check if I want to cash out. Right now, it is between you guys and FTP. So what is your deal?
