Sportingbet PLC has sold SportingbetUSA.com to the existing management team and a group of investors who are continuing to run SportingbetUSA even better than before.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sounds like they're trying to contain liability by spinning off the company.... But then again, what the hell do I know.

The legislation page says:

Please note that all players will no longer have access to our casino products or sports betting products. Any Paradise Poker players that have open bets at Sportsbook.com will have the bets cancelled and the funds, along with any other funds held at Sportsbook, transferred back to Paradise Poker. The funds will be transferred back to Paradise Poker within 12 hours.

More info from the Platinum line. He says the the parent company sportingbet.plc has ceased to accept all wagers from the 10 states and that is why I am disabled. BUT they are in negotiations to sell their US facing business and they EXPECT that sale to be finalized TODAY. If so, then the accounts will be re-activated and should be business as usual possibly as early as today. In any event, he assured me that ALL pending wagers will stand, including futures. They are just not accepting new wagers from those 10 states at this time.

[/ QUOTE ]

Unfortunately, this is not true for Paradise. Pending bets have definitely been cancelled.

[/ QUOTE ]
Weird. I will not be surprised to find that mine are canceled too then and the guy on the Platinum line had it wrong. Why would they cancel from the Paradise skin and not the sportsbook.com site? Doesn't make sense to me. How are you able to see that your wagers are canceled? I get the "account disabled" message as soon as I log on. I can't see pending wagers, lines, nothing.

[/ QUOTE ]

I happened to be logged in as the change happened. I checked my pending wagers and saw that they were graded as no action. And, for no good reason, I didn't take a screenshot.

More on the same, taken out of the sportsbook site:

Welcome to Sportsbook.com!

Sportsbook.com is the largest sports book and casino on the planet, where millions of adult Americans bet on sports, play poker and enjoy blackjack and other casino games online in a regulated and licensed jurisdiction.

Twice named the "Best US Sports Book" by the industry's top magazine (2005, 2006), eGaming Review, Sportsbook.com has been leading the online gaming industry since 1996.

Dwarfing its nearest competitors in the US, Sportsbook.com has been the first to achieve every significant industry milestone, from record turnover to active users to number of bets--achieving a peak of fifteen bets per second. As the US online gaming leader, the firm and its products have been featured on CBS 60 Minutes, CNN, ESPN, Wall Street Journal, Barrons, Financial Times, USA Today and in every major newspaper in the US.

Sportsbook.com is now privately owned with offices and representatives in Costa Rica, Ireland and Canada. Recognized for it's outstanding service to its customers, the management team who have built Sportsbook.com remain in place and committed to continuing to provide the same excellent service.
