PokerStars VIP Changes!! - New items - Cash bonuses

Definitely gone for US. This from Scotty's thread on Bonus forum.

"Amazon made a business decision to no longer supply Amazon.com US gift
certificate codes to PokerStars. This will not effect gift codes for
Amazon in Canada, Germany and the UK. The Amazon.com items will remain in
the VIP Store while the current supply lasts."

yeah, upon looking at it further I see that each money-purchase is actually purchasing a big bonus that has to be cleared within 90 days which certainly makes it even less desireable.


Given that there's a clearing requirement on each of these bonuses I think they can do better than just 1.1 cents per FPP for gold-level. Even 1.5 cents per FPP for supernova seems pretty lousy now that I see that you actually have to clear it within 90 days of purchase.


I might still end up doing it anyway. Haven't decided. But I'm not exactly overwhelmed by this one.

To be honest, if the Amazon Gift Cards didn't exist, I'd be thrilled.

But since they did exist, this seems not nearly as good. This equates to a really really low rakeback % for anyone not playing 2/4NL and above and/or SNG's.

25,000 FPPs takes me 1½ months at Stars to make.
$285 is what I get every week as RB at Tilt.

Same amount of play.
Maybe the deal is better for limit players...

Bonus doesn't cost you anything if you play on Stars. If you don't play there then i guess it's not a good deal.

Since they're discontinuing the Amazon cards for American customers, will Stars try to add gift cards from another seller of general merchandise? (Wal-Mart, Target, Costco, etc.)
