That has been the standard answer when anyone has pointed out the problems with the Patriot Act and loss of Freedoms in the name of "Safety". Can you give me some example that's directly affecting your life? Now, you need to add EXCEPT for online poker .... How long until there is another EXCEPT, and another EXCEPT? And what can you do about it? Here is the question: Since they have the power to take away your freedom, and you are allowing them to erode your rights, Can you give me an example that is directly making you safer?

I just don't want this thread to be filled with vague answerers. I wanted to know the things that changed peoples life directly because of whatever Bush did. By the way, that does NOT mean that I don't care about things that Bush did that is affecting our life indirectly or in the future.

[/ QUOTE ] I can't think of a single thing that Bush did that made my life safer or more dangerous. My life has been the same in terms of safety for the last 6 years.

my life is better, but that is not due to any presidential decisions (other than tax cuts and I'm not rich) or congressional rulings
Improvements in cable tv and broadband internet have made my life much more enriched.

That's the thing. Force doesn't solve problems. At best it postpones it. It should definitely be a last resort.
What exactly about Iraq was threatening? The UN inspectors did not find anything, and what was presumed to be potential nuclear making factories were bombed. No links to organized terrorism was found either. Are there any threats I am missing; why was invasion inevitable? What is most alarming is the result of all of this. Innocent countries will think: if Bush can invade at will, I need to be able to defend myself; I need to invest in nukes. And that's all we need, the proliferation of nukes. Can you really expect anythign else from North Korea after what Bush has done?
