I guess my point (if I had one)was that it's a pretty common problem many people go through at some point (typically during the teenage years) and not neccessarily indicative of a mental disorder.

While social anxiety disorders are a real problem, social anxiety by itself is not. And anxiety over the opposite sex is probably the most common normal social axiety of all.

I like the idea of moving it to psychology, except that is psychology that pertains to gambling.

Considering that OP will need to gamble to resolve this issue...

Seriously, for some this isn't a dilemma age cures. Stalkers, etc. probably have this trait worsen with age. Or the machinery they handle gets heavier.

Ugly dilemma at any age.

hi,I was wondering what do you call this situation-you like somebody a lot but dare not tell him/her nor even talk to him/her a word. He/she is in your mind all day and all night and drive you crazy. How do you call this? Is it a mental disease? What could you do but to escape from him/her?

Have you had ever run upon this situation? What did you do to tackle it?

[/ QUOTE ]

If carried to pathological extremes, it's a variety of social anxiety disorder.

At normal levels, it's called life.
