I've taken a few shots at 10/20 when my bankroll permits, but I've found it hit-and-miss. Occasionally there is a great table, but more often there's too many TAGs and too few fish.

And for some reason, I'm still afraid to really get my feet wet at it, and I go back to the comfort of 4-tabling 5/10. Strangely (or not so) I don't even flinch when I play sessions of live 40/80. Online is sooo different from B&M it's not funny.

Or it could be that I'm skewed after suffering a 20k-hand breakeven stretch that shows no signs of stopping.

after 14,335 hands in the party 1020, I am up 389 dollars, averaging 0.144BB/100.

I finally made it over zero bb/100 today when I made a flush

there are alot of downswings and breakeven stretches this month it seems, and while im sure most of it is just poor variance i think the games are getting tougher and alot of winning players are no longer winners.

I have to wonder after last year's January thread if there isn't some connection between the holidays/New Year's and the games being a little bit tougher. Maybe the fish we play against play poker with recreational money that just isn't there after the holidays? Maybe New Year's resolutions come into play?

Don't mind me, I'm just another conspiracy theorist.

Hi guys, While the subject is here, would like to hear your ideas about my stat. 10/20 game looks like good to me after about 30.000 hands but i am not sure if i am running lucky or 30.000 hands is enough to make a comment that things are going good ? Any ideas will be appreciated so much.
Thanks

10/20 (6 max) 19.063 hands VPIP..27.76 won 7902.15 BB/100= 2.07

10/20 ( 9 or 10 ) 11.936 hands VPIP..17.64 won 3169.77 BB/100= 1.33

I'm up in the 15/30 game for Jan, but it's been very, very ugly. The games are definitely good. I'm repeatedly losing to J8s and the likes from early positition. I'm going into an in depth review, but the bad players are hitting too much.

And in the last few days, even if I loosen up, I can't play more than 14% of my hands. WSD is extremely low and my win% when going to showdown is very low because of the J8 flushes and J7 going runner runner J or Q3 hitting the second 3 on the turn. The games are good.

I'm not going to hang around to find out what's going on. There are too many sites with lots of action. I've cashed out, so I'm not even tempted to play.

Cheers
Magi

If misery loves company, you should invite me over.
It's been ugly since Christmas. (-$8K spread around 20/40 15/30 10/20).
The juicy games are starting to dry up IMHO. I guess now that everyone has a poker chip set, they must have got HPFAP under the tree this year.
Glad I didn't quit my job.

Absolutely not. If you are going to just load up the first game you see, then sure some will suck, but there are plenty of tables with terrible players.

I'm suprised so many qualified 2+2ers have done poorly at this level
