FWIW I fired up party earlier today.....some stuff used ports 80&443 which would be re-routed using a proxy, but they also used another port while checking for updates as well as when connecting to tables. I'm feeling less comfortable that a proxy woud be a viable solution, even if you had a remailer/etc. [/ QUOTE ] This is a bit of a hijack, but I find this much more interesting. Were you looking at proxy servers with the intention of allowing someone to play from a country that banned online gaming? |

[/ QUOTE ]I have a feeling they are wise to using proxies. On disassembling the clients, I've seen strings hinting they have methods in place to detect and block proxies from working. Juk [/ QUOTE ] Shhhhoot thanks juk, I wonder how they could tell if someone was using a proxy to redirect or just using a proxy as part of their lan? Does anyone play at work or anything through a proxy that doesnt actually block PP? Anyone ever played via a VPN? |
