Not sure if any of these players who got kicked off of the team were major contributors.

The two receivers had 0 and 2 catches on the season.
The linebacker was a freshman.
Not sure about the safety and defensive end (both juniors), I read another post that said none of the five were starters, but have not confirmed that.

five players dismissed for buying two six packs at a gas station, the night before a game. things are chaotic in connecticut. the story above says the coach knew the players were involved before the game, but let them play (sparingly) anyway. the huskies lost 38-16. then the coach came down hard on the players. the line is up to +6 since the news broke yesterday, from a low of -4 and an open of +6.5

only one of the five was a regular player... none were starters. this week uconn gets back SS deleston who was suspended last game for an unknown infraction.

army a must-win for huskies to get a bowl game... lots of disciplinary problems for uconn all year, for a team that has underachieved relative to its talent level.

no offense, but this wasn't really an inside play when yahoo had the story up a few hours before you posted.

and, the line moved against uconn a full two days later (a slight change from -5.5 to -4.5) meaning it's very likely unrelated to the suspensions.
