Termites, tenting, trials and tribulations...
I've just started engaging with a pest control company to look at the house I used to live in. They will most likely come back post-inspection saying my folks and I need to tent the place in preparation for sale, most likely early next year. The whole process sounds like it will be very expensive and not much fun...fortunately, the house is pretty much empty, so we don't have to worry about food/clothing/etc.
Anybody have any good termite stories to share? Any known scams by the exterminators I should be aware of? |

Re: Termites, tenting, trials and tribulations...
I noticed som swarming this past April. Called a few companies and got a quote for a Termidor treatment.
Application took less than 6 hours. Buggers were dead and gone within 4 days. < $800 IMO, tenting is a scam. |

Re: Termites, tenting, trials and tribulations...
Canvas goes up today...my dad is skeptical, and lives out in the boonies, so he dug up a dead stump, found some termites, and put them in an old peanut butter jar with some wood shavings and some very small (smaller than termite-sized) holes in the lid. He's left that jar inside the house as a control group.
