Bill Frist is so righteous and ethical...

Apparently, he had the following allegations against him:
Conflict of interest
Medicare Investigation
Insider trading

[/ QUOTE ]

This is one of my favorite Frist's quotes - (but I have many more)
While Senate Majority Leader, Dr. Frist believed that Terri Schiavo, a brain damaged woman whose husband wanted to remove her gastric feeding tube, should not have been diagnosed as persistant vegetative state (PVS). In a lengthy speech delivered on the Senate Floor, Frist challenged the diagnosis of Terri Schiavo’s physicians. "I question it based on a review of the video footage which I spent an hour or so looking at last night in my office."

This guy is a medical genius. I hate these bastard politicans that exploit the ignorant. They know what they're doing.

Why 2000, is this Christian bashing? Because some religious radicals do something all members of that religion are painted with the brush?

Oh, and to steal from my NRA stuff, people with religion didn't stop us from playing poker, people misusing religion did.

It’s important that people in the pro-family movement remain vigilant to be sure that the regulations implementing this law accomplish all that Congress intended.

[/ QUOTE ]

Funny to talk about what "Congress intended" given the way the bill passed.

Default Time to bluff

We need to call Frist's office and say we have 200k Americans that are part of the PPA (but not use the PPA's name). We need to let them know what we also have the backing of several billion dollar online gaming sites and that we are focused now on spending as much as it takes to make sure his presidential run goes nowhere. We have to let them know we're organized and determined to destroy this SOB.

Of course we need to focus on more people than him, but I wouldn't mind someone like the PPA or just a group of us to spend some resources to expose what an unethical and hypocritical bastard Frist is.

i thought the article was actually surprisingly well-written, for the most part. if he had written an identical article about a bill that did not include poker (and did include horse racing and online lotteries) i would mostly agree with it. i'm all for personal freedom, but as a country i don't think we need a lot of people dumping money overseas playing online roulette. flame away.

[/ QUOTE ]

it doesn't matter if you think people should be gambling online or not. that's not what the big picture is about here. people in this country find countless ways to waste their money, and it's not the government's job (at least in this country) to police that. people in a "free" country should be able to spend their money how they like. i would expect government regulation of things like this from china but not from the land of the free.
