I was trying to get a discussion or tips for taxes. Say if I only made 1k I dont think thats worth filing for. If I made like 20k or more though it would be an insta file.

demon,

Don't mind Degen. We're all a little testy this week, and we've gotten several "Is it OK to evade my taxes?" threads in the past.

Degen,

I understand your frustration, but can we give new posters the benefit of the doubt? I mind this a lot less than the threads with 3 day old articles that have been posted several times before.

Go to pocketfives.com and to the left of the page they have a link to TAX Q&A and advice. Although it is confusing it gives a good idea of what you have to do. Your best bet is to seek a good accountant that knows gambling taxs laws. Pay your taxes, you wont go to jail if you dont but who wants to pay 5 yrs of penalties and interest when you can just do the right thing and pay what you owe. It is way easier to cut a check now then to cut many checks to lawyers and the irs.....Hope this helps

[ QUOTE ]
I dont see any part of the forum that has to do with taxes. Are there any good threads here that deals with paying them on ur poker winnings? I am wondering also if I just didnt report them or if there was a way around it.

You will find tax threads in the Finance forum and in the Zoo (Internet Gambling forum)...
