Re: MTT preflop stats look ok?
Is this info of any real value in evaluating my game or is there a scale to compare it too?

Re: MTT preflop stats look ok?
Really tough to tell from your stats. If these are typical numbers for you then your seeing way too many flops unless you can play like Ariah? I am assuming this is a NL tourney? Probably low limit? if you are relatively new you may want to tighten up your hand selections preflop. Ace rag out of position..toss it..Face suited is garbage as well..toss it..Again this is highly speculive without any additional info..

Re: MTT preflop stats look ok?
All these numbers have little statistical significance without more information. Depends if you make FT or not. How many players? The number seems fine.
Showdowns won. You could go all the way and only have several showdowns, so the sample size is usually too small to have significance. It would only take one check through as BB to skew the number. Flops seen. Depends if it's a loose table or tight table. If PF raises are rare and you complete your SB, then auto 20% with any two cards. But 0evg0 has a point that maybe you are seeing too many flops. After flop, win %. Once again, a lot of variables need to be addressed. Typically it's low for my taste. Probably because of the Ace-rag or suited connector scenario 0evg0 gave. Hope that helps answer your question. |

what do the 20/30 preflop percentages mean when people type stuff like that [/ QUOTE ] I think you might be referring to the pokertracker stats ppl sometimes post to help identify how a villain plays. If you don't know about pokertracker google it or somethin, it's some nice software probably more relevant to ring games than tourneys, but still nice nonetheless. The first number is $VPIP (Voluntarily put into pot) this usually gives a sense of how loose/tight villain is. I don't know the exact calculation for this but if someone is above 40 they're pretty loose, mine is usually ~25ish. The second number is % preflop raise. This is just how much they raise preflop. So if someone's numbers were 25/15, their VPIP is 25 and their PFR% is 15. I think that's probably what you were referring to. |

Almost nothing can be determined from these stats because the sample size is insignificant. On top of that, many things influence these stats such as differing play styles from one person to the next as well as the luck factor of being dealt a large number of premium (or trash) hands in a single tournament.
