Wow, how much do you have to play at Stardust to get the poker rate? Bellagio is a long haul from there, but Wynn is walkable.

I like Barbary Coast. It's really conveniently located, and cheap. Also, the restaurant in the basement there is pretty tasty, although it's definitely more of a "couples" place.

Keep in mind that Harrahs intends to raze Barbary Coast now that they recently acquired it in a trade with Boyd Gaming - link There is speculation that Harahs has bought up all the land on the strip across from Ceasers so they can raze it all and build a new property in this very strategic area.

It's been several months since my last trip to Vegas, so I'm not up on their room rates. However, I can remember staying there on Superbowl weekend a few years ago at less than $100/night.

Speculation? It's pretty much fact.

Everything from Harrah's down to Barbary Coast will be gone (except for the Flamingo), and inside rumors are Ballys will eat it too with the "new" Horseshoe going up in its place.

Paris (and Flamingo) is the only casino on the east side of the Strip owned by Harrahs that can be considered safe from demolition.

It's a walk but Casino Royale has "cheaper" rooms for it's location next to Imp palace, TI, Mirage and it's still a hotel casino.... no poker room but 100x odds on craps

I stayed at the Hooters Hotel and Casino for like $53/night pretty nice accomodations for the price a kin to like a La Quinta or Days Inn. Plus it didn't suck to walk thru the lobby for sight seeing
