My Opinion About The Signifigance of Party's Decision

Sorry but I disagree. So does everyone in our company's London office that works for me FWIW. Party's decision, as much as it's not convenient for me, is prudent commercially. As a public company traded in the UK, the officers of the company actually could be extradited and prosecuted. It's unlikely, but just not worth the risk. See the NatWest/Enron thing for reference.
