Default What is a good winrate?

These may be stupid questions, but I'll ask anyway. I understand the concept of BB/100 hands being a standard way of determining whether you are winning enough in limit hold em. My understanding is that BB = big bets - referring to the big bet in a limit game (e.g., $20 in a $10/20 game) But does the concept apply also to no limit hold em? If so, what does BB, or "big bet", mean when you are referring to no limit hold em? Is it the big blind?

Also, if you are a live cash game player, and thus have no way of knowing how many hands you play, but rather keep track of your play based upon hours played at a particular game, what is a good winrate on a per hour basis? Or should you be thinking in terms of BB/hour?

Basically, I'm trying to understand how I should be interpreting my results at the different games I play. The way I keep currently keep track is $/hour at a particular game. However, I don't know how to compare the two, other than the ratio of the $ to the amount of the blinds, which are the variables.

Anyone have some insights?

Thanks.

Winning a lot of money fast is good.

In NL games, it's usually easy to measure winrates in big blinds rather than big bets, although poker tracker uses big bets (2x the big blind).

Seriously. Anyone have anything to add? If BB for no limit = 2x the big blind, then is 4BB/hour considered a decent winrate? Should you be happy with any BB/hour winrate? Is there a thread somewhere that addresses these questions?

Perhaps the FAQ in the appropiate strategy forum could help?

This depends much on the rake sturcture. Sites that don't modify their rake structure (such as the Cryptos) for short-handed play pretty much make it impossible to overcome the rake HU.

I suppose you'd need to compare your performance with 100% rb.

A good player can achieve a higher rate HU, if you discount the rake.
