Come on people, this bill is not going to pass anyway. When the real threat arrives, I'm sure Mason and Company will be right in the thick of it.

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] We met this morning with our attorney Mark Tratos ... The thinking is that no bill will be passed until after the elections, and how the elections go may influence the final result. [/ QUOTE ] Quality advice ya got there. Good work Mark. Translation of quote: We're not going to do anything. Let's hope it doesnt pass before the elections, then lets hope the Dems get in and we dont have to do anything. Let's hope that's how it goes. Hopefully. [/ QUOTE ] Wow is there an election in the next two weeks? Isn't Bush supposed to sign/not sign two weeks from October 1st. |

Any update on this? [/ QUOTE ] Yes, where is 2+2's formal statement? Maybe it's 2+2's decision to continue a do-nothing approach, and to go against an organization that has at least tried to do something (the PPA). |

Re: You misspelled \"Sklansky\"
Lawyers are always correct. Mason's lawyer is busy preparing a statement that he doesn't expect to see any legislation on internet gambling signed into law in the foreseeable future. And, by the time they actually get around to releasing the statement he will be, technically, correct.

Re: You misspelled \"Sklansky\"
masnon makes some good points about the ppa.
however, there are players on the board who we have no reason to not trust. i really doubt my $20 is going to waste, but towards the goal of keeping internet poker alive. |

Re: You misspelled \"Sklansky\"
Mason,
I believe what some are frustrated about is that you, David, Ed, et al are the subject matter experts in the field of gambling and poker. That being said, many of us believe you, as a collective group, could do something to help proliferate an understanding of the industry so that some sort of common ground can be reached with our government. Right now, we have been disenfranchised of a right to do what we want with our time and money. This is bad. I don't know how you would go about it, but maybe demanding a meeting with the officers of the PPA would be a good start. As I said before, you are the subject matter expert. Get together with the PPA and their lawyers, give them your expertise and then let the lawyers deal with the legalities as that is their area of expertise. I don't like putting this type of pressure on you guys, but from those to whom much is given, much is expected. Adam |
