Default E-Mails From and To Sun Poker.

IMO, the Cryptologic sites seem to really be handling the situation poorly. I had accounts at two of their sites and based on my experiences the last two days, as well as what I have seen posted here in the thread titled "Cryptologic Officially Out," it appears that there is an enormous amount of confusion and miscommunication going on in the Cryptologic world.

I have exchanged e-mails with Sun Poker and Inter Poker and thought sharing them with you would answer some of the questions raised in other threads. Following are my e-mails with Sun Poker. I'll post e-mails with Inter Poker in a separate thread. As you will be able to tell by reading these exchanges, there is some conflicting information, there is some bad news regarding unpaid bonuses, yet there is also some hopefully positive information with regard to rakeback and MPPs accumulated.

Hey David,

Please check out the following link on our website that pertains to U.S. players:

If you need to verify your mailing address or have any questions related to this payout, be sure to contact our payment processor Ecash Direct at accounts@ecashdirect.net

With regards to rakeback and points, we should have that taken care of shortly.

Best Regards,

Hello David,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us and do accept my apologies for the late response.

David, at this point, all US players are unable to log in and make a withdrawal. Our software providers
Cryptologic, has decided to send all available balances via check to all US players. Therefore, you can expect the check within 10 - 12 business days through your regular mail.

Regarding your rake back for September, we are presently in discussions as to how these funds can be made available to you. You will be contacted via email once we have a solution in place.

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused to you with the matter at hand.

All my best,

Candia

Adam-

This deeply troubles me and confuses me. I have some questions that I would appreciate having answered.

1. Your e-mail says that I will be able to log into my account and request a withdrawal of my balance. But that is not now the case. I just tried to log-in and was unable to do so. How do I get my money, which I remember to be about $230? Will it be refunded back to my NETELLER account? When will this occur?
2. I receive rakeback through Rakebacks.com for my account. By my calculation, I am still owed approximately $43.00 for my play during September. When will I receive credit for these monies and how and when will I receive them?
3. As best as I can recall, I have about 2000MPPs in my account. I know these have some residual cash value, inasmuch as I was using MPPs to enter several tournaments at SunPoker. Will I be recompensed for these and will payment for them be included in my closeout withdrawal?

Again, I wish to convey my sadness at this turn of events and at the same time express my appreciation for my poker playing experience at SunPoker for approximately the last 18 months. I look forward to hearing from you regarding my questions and thank you and all of your customer service team for their assistance to me.

Sincerely,

David,

I'm not sure if you're aware of the recent developments in US online gaming industry. In short, the US government has passed a law that would prohibit banks, credit card companies, and other financial institutions from processing gambling funds. This controversial act was attached to a popular and completely unrelated bill regarding Port Security (HR4954) early Saturday morning. In this way, the act was passed because representatives were more concerned with the major bill being made law and knew only in the final minutes of the attachment.

It does NOT make it illegal for US citizens to play online, however drastically affects your ability to enjoy your favorite poker and casino games by making it difficult to send and receive your deposits and winnings.

In light of these events, our software and ECash provider for SunPoker.com, CryptoLogic and ECashDirect, have made the
decision to no longer service US registered accounts.

Consequently, all accounts with US based addresses will no longer be able to play in the casino or poker room as of 12PM EST today October 3rd.

Your account will however be available for you to log into and request a withdrawal of your available balance.

All other accounts with non US based addresses will remain
unaffected.

Currently it is unclear as to the longer term ramifications of these events at CryptoLogic and should the position change, we will notify you.

In the meantime, we are hoping to make provisions so that you are able to continue to enjoy playing and enjoy the same levels of service and bonuses you've come to expect from us. We will keep you updated.

Thanks for your time, and we do sincerely apologize for any
inconvenience this may cause you.

Regards

PS: We continue to maintain that it is your individual right to be allowed to play online responsibly in another form you see fit. We therefore invite you to contact your Congressman (or woman) to express your dismay as to not only the bill itself, but as to the underhanded way in which it was passed.
