Re: Q4s in BB - is this river a check/fold?
[ QUOTE ]
If you bet the river do you fold to a raise? [/ QUOTE ] I don't mind folding to a river raise if I haven't folded to one recently and the villain hasn't shown any tendency to get out of line. This is player dependent obviously, but that's what I would do with someone who is basically unknown. [ QUOTE ] The fact that he raised preflop, then called all your bets rather than raising makes me think he has a T, which makes me think he has AT because that's the most likely hand to be raised preflop. [/ QUOTE ] I think this range might be a bit too narrow. If villain is aggressive then we would probably raise AT on the turn as well as KT (maybe for a free showndown, maybe not). JT, T9, T8s, and K7s are also possible holdings that would often call a river that you beat, as are a number of pocket pairs less than QQ that didn't make a set (OP has a read that villain will go to the river and fold, but a lot of people seem to do that with unreasonable hands hoping to pair up so it's hard to tell what that read means exactly). AK, AJ, and AT, A7 and other Aces that somehow made it to the river are ahead of you. I would guess that based on those ranges then c/c, b/f and b/c are all pretty reasonable. If you are getting run over, maybe tend towards c/c. If you have a really aggro imagine and have b/f recently, then maybe tend towards b/c. If nothing out of the ordinary has happened and recently and you have a relatively solid image then I tend towards b/f. c/f is not a good option without a really good read. |
