Default Early in tournament, 2 pair horrible fold?

Early in 69+6 tournament on fulltilt. I have 3100 to start this hand, villain has about the same. He's been playing pretty tight so far, other than that no reads. Blinds 15/30

dealt to HERO: 4c7s in BB

folds, CO limps, button folds, SB completes, I check.

FLOP: T74r

SB leads for 90, I raise to 360, folds to him, he thinks for a few seconds and calls.

TURN: 8r (810)
VILLAIN bets 810
HERO folds.

I thought there was a good chance i had the best hand, just didn't think it was worth it that early. I wasn't just ognna call, i was gonna shove, and i didn't wanna do it yet. I thought he easily could have had T8 or something in bb, or slowplayed flopped 2 pair. He might have had T9 or something, but even that i wasn't far ahead of. WHat should i have done here?

I don't know. Barring any reads I think I am gonna push it here. He could have a hand like AT here as well.

well, i only had invested 300/3000, and i thought if i went all in, he would call. I thought there was a good chance, like 30%, that he had 2 pair, and the rest of the time he has AT/T9/whatever. So even though i thought i probably had the best hand, i decided i could just fold with no harm done and wait for a better spot to get my money in, when i was more sure i was ahead

So you folded in a big pot when you thought there was a 70% chance you were far ahead?

krammatrix, this pot is (will be) huge and you're probably ahead. When (if) you find this magical better spot, you're going to have many less chips and thus the pot will be much smaller. Take this edge and the next one and the next one, etc.

...or an overpair. This is a push dude, especially if you think you're 70% to win.
