50/100 facing Matusow river C/R

Our hand is very underrepped. Matusow, by most accounts, sucks. He can make the river call with any Queen or a smaller PP. Plenty of value left, IMO.

More relevant, maybe 15 min ago, Matusow open completes SB w/ QJs. Bets $100 on QQ2 and gets called. Turn K. He chk calls a psb. River 6, he crai and gets paid by a worse Q.

Looks like a fold to me.

From the given history, his POV is that you look moderately conservative and he should give you credit for at least some kind of hand. Knowing you've lost getting sucked out on and folded the flop to a psb against his unknown hand in the recent past, my interpretation of his thinking on the river is that you probably have a hand and are looking to beat him in a pot psychologically. He gives you credit for air or a pair based on the action to this point necissitating the CR for any additional value for a monster.

I think the big bet intentionally looks fishy and expect to see a ten here.

Never played him, I'm guessing? He doesn't suck. He's capable of bringing his F game, and has trouble snapping out of it. But, his normal game is among the strongest there is.

I agree that a river bet is in order, but I would've made it quite a bit smaller; 900 seems right to me.

Whitelime and I discussed this hand already, and he made a very good point about why he did what he did, IMO. I'll let him make it.

Worth a try but the hand is over after we check. If you're gonna fold to a raise then dont bet it. Since you bet, call.
