This thread has really become stupid.

I'll repeat what I said earlier. Twoplustwo.com has been around since 1997. It's here to discuss poker and related issues while promoting the company's books ales. Poker is obviously legal in Nevada where Two Plus Two Publishing is based.

There's absolutely no way the site is gong anywhere.

majority of 2+2 forums are about online gambling

[/ QUOTE ]

Only four of the forums on this site are about online gambling.

Internet
Internet Bonuses
Affiliates/Rakeback
Site Software, Skins, Networks

Online poker is legal in Nevada? You may want to inform the Justice Department. The site has been around since 1997, let the former investors who lost their tails because of the collapse of Bearings Bank know that longevity effects how long a company, site, whatever you want to call it is around for. Make sure to let the Supreme Court know that minimum-contact requirements do not effect twoplustwo. This is something that effects everyone, twoplustwo is not exempt, but you can call this thread stupid and pretend there is no threat.

if you have a site that has a few forums discussing child pornography, chances are the whole site will get shutdown. The same principal applies here.

Read his post, he said POKER is legal in Nevada. That's what we discuss here, poker. Whether you play it online or in a casino is your choice.

(With, or course, the exception of the forums rooms he listed)

Correct me if i'm wrong, even if the bill is passed and enforced...online poker is NOT illegal..just transfers from US banks.
Don't see why 2+2 would ever be unaccessible

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree it will still be accessable but "IF" this legislation essentially shuts down internet poker in the US, it will have a negative effect on all poker sites. You can expect..

Traffic to be down.
Advertizing revenues to be down.
Book sales to be down.

Not a pretty picture.

Yes a site like this is still needed for the poker community for those who play B&M, home games and non-US players.

But it will hurt everybody associated with poker. The one exception.... B&M's should do very well.

B&M's poker boomed along with online poker. If online poker were wiped out, it would hurt B&M's in the long run.

majority of 2+2 forums are about online gambling which is illegal now....

[/ QUOTE ]

When the Federal Court of Appeals in New Orleans ruled that online poker is not covered under the wire act, there are a few things to take into consideration. There was a different climate in this country, even in 2002. The case that is referenced was a civil, not criminal case. This was the ruling of one Court of Appeals, there are 12 regional circuits in the United States each one may interpret the law differently. Until the Supreme Court clarifies things, no one will know whether online poker is really illegal or not.

[/ QUOTE ]

Any idea who wrote the opinion? I sure hope it was my grandfather, who served on the 5th Circuit in New Orleans for 30+ years.

The way 2+2 responded to the entire bill fiasco, I think it's safe to assume the gov't will consider them a "neutral territory"

2+2's response is coming soon man! I'm guessing 2+2's response is that their response is coming soon.

[/ QUOTE ]

I hope so, I want to hear them make it official, that they do not support the PPA in any way shape or form.

If it is not illegal, then it should be de facto legal. It was vice versa in the Soviet Union, however.

Illegal poker books will be burned soon. Go and dig them in ground NOW and you will be rich after they are relegalized - maybe 50 years or so from this day. The Land of the Free! Soon also Poker Free!
