[ QUOTE ]
That roster is in the shambles. If Stanton hadn't had a miracle run of a couple months it would be even more obvious that the problem was that Sabean made several gambles and none of them worked. I don't understand the hating on Felipe. [/ QUOTE ] I'll assume you are a Giants fan (I am). I believe a manager has to obviously play the cards they are given. With that, I did not expect the Giants to win the WS any of the last 3 years. But... his managing of the one play-off run he had with the Giants was infuriating (JT Slow not pinch-run for???). Through his 4 seasons , he never could decide if he should leave pitchers in, or run through 5 pitchers in a matter of innings opting to almost randomly choose either option game by game. He tweaked line-ups that seemed to be working and stayed too long with line-ups that couldn't get it done. I don't think he did any better than sub-par managing within his tenure. |

[/ QUOTE ] Of course the roster is in disarray, but this drives me nuts. I hate how me managed the bullpen. Guys are warming up, sitting, warming up... I know the current environment features more pitching changes than ever before, but he took the righty-lefty matchup to an absurd conclusion. This is in part why I'd rather not see Brenly as the next manager, as I seem to recall him being an over-manager when it came to the pitching staff. |
