Re: How would you attempt to achieve a solid 11$ hourly rate?
11.00/hr playing poker is far from worth it unless you have a big big wad of cash sitting in your checking account. Even then I don't know if it's worth it. V-A-R-I-A-N-C-E and 11/hr playing poker is not worth the trouble.

Re: How would you attempt to achieve a solid 11$ hourly rate?
$11/hr is pretty easy to achieve any of the ways mentioned.
Cash games have the advantage of better bonuses and Rakeback which should clear $11/hr at say $50 NL 203 tabling even if you are breakeven player there. MTT's have the advantage of big payoffs when you make top 5 or so.. Low stake SnG's have the advantage that you won't have to think much.. |

[ QUOTE ]
what if two days before your rent is due you lose $200. now you have to dip into your bankroll to pay your rent... [/ QUOTE ] This should never happen. You should have at the very least, a couple of months expenses saved up in addition to your BR. If not you're treading very thin ice. This is very basic stuff. |

4-table 2/4 sh limit
assume 1.5bb/100 (conservative). 350 hands/hr (conservative). About 5.25bb/hr, or like $21. This is before rakeback and bonuses and the game is pitifully easy. |

Re: How would you attempt to achieve a solid 11$ hourly rate?
why in the world would you only want to make $11/hr when you could be making so much more?
work smarter, not harder |

[/ QUOTE ] I think you could rack up $11/hr rakeback doing this. Playing on Full Tilt, bonus plus rakeback is $20/hr for me, playing 4 tables of 2/4 SH. If you had a big enough bankroll that you didn't have to rely on winnings, just live off of rakeback. I actually did this for a semester, but I decided to go work a $6.40/hr job instead this semester, and just do poker as a side venture. I couldn't really handle the stress, and I was playing on a 300BB bankroll, which wasn't smart, and I had trouble putting in the hours. Now if I run bad and get tilty, I know I don't have to force myself to playing more hours than I want because I had to to make enough money to get by. |

The mere thought of playing poker full-time by grinding 40+ hours at small stakes makes me want to tear out my brain.
