Default $5.50 stars - BB in Bubble underpair?

One of my biggest leaks, particularly in these SNG, is frequently not believing that anybody really has anything. Works ok when I'm playing ring limit at the local (california) clubs, but not so much in no limit SNG.

Given the circumstance, is this a reasonable call?

You should shove preflop. Raising that much out of position just pot commits you and not him.

On the flop you should just bet allin - the question of calling this raise doesnt arise (it's an easy call because of the gigantic pot odds).

My only problem with all in preflop is that is a bet variation from my steals - I try to raise a consistant multiplier of the B (plus or minus some for earlier limpers)

Unless I should really be pushing allin at this point? That would be a pretty major change.

BTW: The allin had pocket 6's and lost.

After one limper I would certainly shove with this stack size on the bubble.

Yeah, easy shove preflop. And even though it's just a $5 sng you can't play all your games with the thought process of "not thinking he has anything," that strategy is for donks and gets you in a lot of trouble with mediocre hands.
