For many players, i think it will serve as confirmation of many of their ideas about PLO. It's very nice to have it down on print and for novices, it should steepen the learning curve.

Amazon has this book on the "pre-order" status again. Did it run out of copies?

Byron Jacobs...aren't you the Byron Jacobs who wrote "Winning with the Benko"? [/ QUOTE ] Yep, that is the man ... but don't worry in another thread here on 2+2 he reveals that The Benko is dead and The Nimzo is a much better defence to be looking into. |

For many players, i think it will serve as confirmation of many of their ideas about PLO. [/ QUOTE ] Completely agree with this. I don't consider myself anywhere near a PLO expert, but I've played enough to where I've found myself using some of Rolf's strategies without exactly knowing what/how I was doing it. I think those who have done a lot of reading/playing poker in general probably feel the same way. As for the book, I'm a little over 1/2-way through it. While I think it's great thus far, it's taking me a lot longer to read than I thought it would. And I'm definitely going to have to re-read it a few times before a lot of his hand analysis sinks in. I'm also wondering if there are already players using his short-stack strategy more at the lower limits (i.e. Party 100/200) or I've just never noticed players buying in short before until this book...probably a combo. of both. |

Once Amazon had gotten the book, it had been in their top 2,500 for 8 consecutive days. No biggie of course for any new book about no-limit hold'em, for any 2+2 book, or for any book written by some kind of World Champion / very famous player. But in this case (no World Champion, book about a game that is not that widely spread, etc.) this was quite of a (yes, pleasant!) surprise, and had indeed led to Amazon running out of copies. If my information is correct, the book is back in stock now. Best regards, Rolf. |

Awesome book. It's easily the best PLO book on the market now.
But then, Rolf essentially taught me how to play PLO on PokerSchool Online, so I'm not all that surprised. |

As a matter of fact, it was the first thing shipped out of my order and everything else was listed as in stock. |
