Default China attacks US satellites with laser

I heard about this on the radio today. For some reason the US media isn't reporting it.

Countries have been trying to jam or incapacitate spy satellites for a while, the Russians do it all the time. So far it hasn't worked. I'm sure we do the same stuff to their satellites if possible.

Pretty freaking smart, actually. If they were to do that to commercial satellites, though, I'm sure we'd get quite a bit more testy about it.

They're just protecting their country. If this was 1985 and we had the ability to do the same thing to Russian satellites, wouldn't you be in favor of that?

In a nutshell, some dedicated reading on the subject will reveal that China's strategy is to challenge US domination in warfare areas where the US has been strongest, namely in the air, in space, and the electromagnetic spectrum. This seems in line with this general strategy.

When the biggest trade partner isn't going to do anything about it, how isn't it wise?
